I signed up for Direct TV. I was told it would cost me $29.00 a month. They charged me $65.00 a month. When I complained they said I was only eligable if I sent a coupon in that they e-mailed to me. When I told them I never received it to send me another, they said it was too late. Then I moved. When I signed up I told them I did not want a contract because I might be moving. They asured me moving would not create any problems. When I moved my TV service was already incorporated into my rent.
I also paid in full for my equipment when I was connected.
They continued to bill me after I moved and I was no longer using their service. I called and let them know I was not going to continue paying for a service I am no longer receiving. I moved the 1st of June. Today they used my debit card number without my permission and withdrew $495.00. out of my checking account. I would like to know who regulates these satelite companies and why they are able to advertise deceptively and commit bank fraud without being arrested. Warning, I was told that there is a paragraph on my sign up contract giving them permission to take money out of my account, by the Direct TV representative I spoke to today.
