On the night of August 8, 1952 my platoon walked into a Chinese ambush. My highly decorated company commander saw my action on that night and cited me for The Silver Star Medal. It was downgraded to The Bronze Star Medal with a "V" for valor by the Army Review Board.
In my request for an upgrade to The Silver Star I have received four different reasons for the downgrade none of which make sense to me.
Since my company commander is now deceased I have no one to contest the Army Review Board's decision.
Could you help me receive the award for which I was cited?
