I went out to trucks only on July 1, 2010 and talked with the finance manager Bob Mulvania he said on the phone at an earlier conversation with him they buy vehicles and would give me $4000. more then Auto trader.com would give . I asked Bob what I could get for my truck a 2008 Ford F250 Superduty 4x4 Lifted with a 6" Fabtech lift on it very nice truck I bought it new from sanderson ford for $59,000. after taxes my truck was in mint condition. When I was talking to Bob he said they were no longer buying vehicles out right so we looked at a 2001 Ford F150 supercrew 4x4 lifted pickup and test drove it to gas station that was not even a mile away. The truck needed some work that bob said he would have his mechanic look at it but never did. I kept asking for a price on the truck and Bob came back with I can get you at least $12,000. back he never gave me a price I also asked for the carfax It took them forever as Bob was doing the paperwork I still did not know how much I was paying for the truck. When I got the carfax I found out that the truck had been in an accident before. so I inquired about it and Bob told me that the airbags had not deployed so it was nothing to be worried about. Before I knew it Bob was screwing up on all the paperwork and kept having to redo paper's due to him forgetting information on them so he was confusing us so we wouldn't know what was actually happening before it was too late. I never got a buyer's guide on the vehicle or a price on it Just that I was going to go home with $12,000. But when I was sitting there he said a different price which was $10,000.00 I asked him what happened to the $12,000. and after the person to approve the monies amount had left Bob started messing with the price and bumped it up to $11,901.00 Which means My truck sold for $38,000.00 none of the vehicles on their lot had a Buyer's guide in them and no prices on the vehicles either. Bob said he would call us to fix the step on passenger side and he would tell us where we were to take the vehicle to because they didn't do it there. I cashed the check. When we got home which was from mesa to Peoria az. We were looking at the paper work and noticed that we did not get copies of everything and that there was no signatures but mine on them. and that I had paid $26660.for this Ford f150 supercrew 4x4 lifted that had been wrecked before with 58315 miles on it which is really low for a 2001 that had 4 owner's on it . it had an electrical problem before and a recall on it that required service for the speed control system modification deactivation switch that needed to be fixed since 2005. I found out that kelly blue book on the 2001 ford f150 is only worth $14225. if in excellent condition but this truck would only be worth $8000.00 because it is not in excellent shape and the carfax stste's that it should be less $240.00 then the retail price. For what I traded in that was paid off in full and what I ended up with a piece of garbage that keeps needing to be fixed and still does not run right I got ripped off over $15,000. on this deal. When I was talking to my insurance guy I told him about the paperwork not being signed and he gave me a lawyer to talk to and I called him and explained what happened and he told me to go and talk to the owner at trucks only and tell him that this was not a valid or binding contract because it was not signed by a representative and it even states it on the document, I also got an Engine warranty that is not signed and an secure odometer disclosure that was not signed either. On July 6,2010 We went back to trucks only I talked to Chris Sullivan the General Manager and told him I wanted to talk to the owner and he informed me that the owner was not going to come down there to talk to me. I then told him I wanted my truck back and he could have the 2001 back and all his money back too. and that the deal was not valid nor binding because the documents were not signed. He then informed me that it was not going to happen and that he could assure me that all document's were signed. And that it was binding because I had cashed their check. However he didn't want to see my paper's nor work with me at that time he then told me to call his lawyer. and gave me a number. as I was leaving I had taken pictures of their lot because of the buyer's guide was not available on any vehicle on that lot . I then contacted Better business Bureau and made a complaint against them for dishonest and deceptive sale's practices. They talked with chris and the truck was still having problem's and after reading his reply to bbb
reply from Chris Sullivan : Which was "We are sorry that Mr. Calder is unsatisfied with his purchase at Trucksonly he brought his 08 ford in to either trade or sell and negotiated a deal with our sales manager to purchase a vehicle and receive cash back. The vehicle he selected was a 2001 F150 supercrew 4x4 that had 58000 original miles on it at the time of purchase which is extremely low for that year of vehicle. In Addition, the vehicle was customized with an aftermarket lift, premium wheels and off-road tires, amongst other extras. This is not a typical 2001 truck and cannot be valued by blue book as such. In addition, Mr Calder received above market value for his vehicle. The number's were agreed and satiafactory to both parties and Mr Calder was given a checkfor his difference in the transaction which was just below $12000. This check was immediately cashed by the customer. again, there were no issues or concerns and signed by the customer in our business office where he received his copies of the transaction. Shortly thereafter, our part of the paperwork was signed in our administration office once it was ready for titling and processing. No mention of any repairs that are needed on the vehicle have ever been made to Trucks Only by the customer. We would be more than willing to discuss taking care of any repair concerns that there may be on the truck. Sincerely Chris Sullivan trucks only."
Now I will comment here after his reply to BBB. The part he failed to tell you is that my truck was also a 4x4 CUSTOMIZED With a Fabtech 6" lift that cost closed to $9000 with Aftermarket off-road tires and wheels with many extra's in mint condition It was SANDERSON FORD'S SHOW TRUCK and it was in comercials and the 2008 Sima show's
. And That he was not there when certain things were mentioned about the truck to be fixed. When I was upset and wanted my truck back he was in no way concerned about the problem and did not offer to do anything about it. until BBB contacted him !!! on the 15, of July the day before I read Chris reply to BBB I thought the truck needed a wheel alignment that was maybe the reason for the steering being weird acting up so I went down to Big O Tires to get an alignment and they said I needed to do some work on the truck before an alignment could be done I would just be wasting my money. They said the truck needed FRONT END WORK UPPER BALL JOINTS, PITMAN ARM BEFORE ALIGNMENT CAN BE DONE AND LOWER ONES DONE TOO. I went home and was reading my email and a reply from bbb was ther so I read it and after reading Chris's reply I called Chris and told him what the truck was doing and they came out to our house on July 16th, 2010 and towed my truck back out to the dealership to see what It needed to fix it. I had to go rent a vehicle for a week so I could get my things done because they left us carless this cost me $616.83 for the week. I had called before this date and asked if my truck was ready yet and Dave replyed to me that they were going to send the truck to Ford dealership to have a mechanic do an inspection on the truck. On July 22, 2010 Dave the Manager of the service Department called me and said my truck was ready so I drove out to mesa and I was told by dave that they couldn't recreate the truck stalling and that they would send it to the Ford dealership at no cost to me, I said I didn't say it was stalling when ac was on I said when you floor the gas peddal your rpms go up but no power as in it barely moves when it gets hot out side when you drive it around a lot, I also said I thought you already sent it to ford he said no he just got the ok by Chris to send it to the dealership. I said ok and proceeded to ask about a rental car because the one I had was susposed to be back by 4:00 that day and I was late getting it back already and he said that from that day forward that they would pay the rental fee's from the 23 on until they finish my truck and pay the charges for the vehicle if I could rerent the car for a couple of more day's. then he came back and said their insurance would not cover a rental car for us nor a loaner from them. I had to rent another vehicle for another day which I could not afford to do. But had to or have no way to go pick up my truck when it was ready. after I picked up my truck my truck I noticed that the right boot on the axle was all bunched up and asked Dave to check it out and sure enough it needed to bo replaced so they replaced it but had a problem with the wheel so they had to replace another part so the truck will be able to be driven. at which time they gave us a loaner which they said they could not do when the truck was first brought into them. They put the vehicle in my name and used my insurance for it. and only reimberst me for $280. of the rental car fee's and the truck is still having problems. Now that BBB has closed the case saying it has been resolved .
chris won't even return my calls He only made it look like he was helping me because of the complaint to BBB right after they closed the complaint he quit fixing things there is more things that need to be addressed on this vehicle. I don't feel safe in it and I feel this truck it needs a lot more work then I can afford. and for $26660.00 it should run right and not have to have every thing replaced.
look at there pricing's on their vehicles for a lot newer and this truck cost me three times what bluebook value for this truck should of been on a 9 year old truck that has been wrecked before and that needes almost everything replaced on it. I feel I should of got a decent truck for the $26,660. I ended up with a vehicle that needs a lot of work. That I can't afford to fix what can I do about this ? is their a law on how much car dealerships are allow to charge for a vehicle?
This vehicle is unreliable what are my option ? what can I do about this problem?
enclosed will be all documents to prove what I said is true. I never got a buyers guide I read that it had to be on all car dealers cars and only removed when test driven only and then replaced after test drive. There were none in any car there took picture's
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Jeff Calder
