On April 13th I contacted Rent-A-Center on Lemmon Ave about renting a dishwasher due to the apartment I just rented did not have one. They had one in stock and arranged to deliver it on Saturday April 16th, which they did so. While it was being delivered the owner of the apartment complex happened to stop by and saw it and asked what it was. When I explained he told me he wan't sure he would allow it because he didn't think the buildings plumbing would support it but told me he would check with his plumber and let me know. He contacted me back on Thursday the 21st by email and told me unfortunately he had decided the buildings plumbing would not support it and I would have to remove it. I immediately called Rent-A-Center and spoke with Ashley to inform her of the situation. She kept trying to pressure me to rent something else saying the money I had already paid could be applied to another item. She never even once mentioned that I could get my money back. I told her there was nothing else I needed and I really just wanted my money back which per their worry free guarantee says I can get my money back in 7 days. Nowhere does it specify that time limit starts from the moment I ordered it. Plus I never signed any contracts until the item was actually delivered. When I realized a month later they hadn't credited my account I went to the store and was told sorry, it was too late, nothing we can do about it. So I contacted my bank to contest the charge. My bank investigated and Rent-A-Center's response was he returned it in 9 days which is outside their guarantee. The item was returned within 6 days, not 9 and I feel like Rent-A-Center is just ripping me off. My bank refused to reverse the charge so I'm now out $70.61 and still doing dishes by hand.
