My name is Darlene.I bought a used vehicle on the 1st of April, 2008 from Rascons Auto Sales. I was told prior to purchasing the vehicle (by Nick) that the company was going to replace a missing valve cover gasket. I had the vehicle inspected the following evening and they found numerous problems, a major problem being the transmission. I immediately notified the dealer and was told to bring it back and it would be fixed. I returned the vehicle on April 3,2008 and picked it up again on the 4th, after being told that the problem had been corrected. I took the vehicle to another mechanic on April 7th. I explained to him that a sales person decided to replace a missing valve cover gasket. I was then notified by the mechanic that in the process of the sales person (Nick) replacing the missing valve cover gasket, he broke the casing housing the cord that controls the throttle to the transmission and then super glued it back together. The problem had not been present when my uncle and I had test driven the vehicle the previous Friday. Again I notified the dealer of the problem, and until my mechanic, who is a man, told him word for word what I had told him, he would not believe that there was a problem at all.
I had the vehicle towed back to their lot on the 8th with the promise to fix the continuing issue. However, after 3 attempts to pick up the vehicle after they notified me it was ready, the "owner" decided to issue me a refund of the monies paid. This was the 16th of April. I was told to give them the sales paperwork and bring the title back and sign it over, then the check would be ready for pick up on the 18th. When I arrived the morning of the 18th there was no check and I was given the run around. It is now the 23rd and I still haven't received my money back from them.I have been lied to on numerous occasions the the manager and owner of the company and know that Jason and none of his staff are to be trusted. I have filed several complaints against them and am hoping that by writing this letter to you that no other consumer will make the mistake that I have and get fleeced by Rascons Auto Sales.
I am also hoping that any other consumers who have have or have had issues with this company will file complaints against them and know that they have rights too.
