Qwest, Zoom-I-Net Complaint

ILD's and Qwest...what are they? - Telephone service

- Denver
I noticed my Qwest bill last month had a funny charge on it of "ILD" Teleservices. What the heck is that? Called Qwest and found out that they have "no control" over 3rd party billings on my Qwest bill. They just pass on the charge. OK, so that's interesting. Told me to call "Zoom-I net" who was the company that charged this to Qwest, and ultimately to me. I talked to Zoom-I-net, still have no clue as to what they do or who authorized this on my behalf, and they said they would credit the amount. Still have not seen the credit, and Qwest will not credit until they do. I itemized a few more bills, and sure enough, there is a monthly charge for the same ILD fee from Zoom-I-net. So...last year in total I was billed $160 from this 3rd party company who I never authorized and is coming to me on my Qwest bill, who will not credit me until they do.

What is wrong with this picture, and how many other people have had this same charge?

I am having the same problem!!! I've been getting charged a monthly service fee by Zoom-I-Net for several months now!! I never authorized this company!!! Then you call there toll free number and they take foooooorever to answer. As if they know "eventually they'll hang up"! This is so frustrating!

The same thing happened to me. Zoom-i-Net (via ILD) hit me with 4 unauthorized charges in the first month I had my new phone number. Zoom-i-Net charged me on a weekly basis for a monthly service that I did not order. Of course, I didn't find out until I got my first bill. By then it was too late. I have managed to get credits for 3 of the charges, but 6 months later Zoom-i-Net has not processed the last credit, although they did give me a confirmation number 3 months ago. I just tried to call them again. I waited on hold for 20 minutes, then someone picked up the phone and promptly hung up without saying a word. Verizon, of course, is aware of the issue, but will do nothing (except charge me a late fee for not paying the full amount of my bill).

It looks like this company is going around subscribing unsuspected clients to their services. Not to bore you, the same story floating around the internet concerning Zoom-I-Net is currently happening to me, with a twist: that company doess't appear to have anybody to take your calls. It sounds like a good case for the State Attorney.

I echo all the comments listed here. My wife and I will be contacting the Illinois state's attorney's office with this. Drop me a line with a quick blurb on your situation with Zoom I-Net to substantiate our class action filing.

I'm having the exact problem w/ IDL services. I do get reimbursed every month, but I'm tired of having to call and complain on a monthly basis. I've been getting international long distance charges for calls made to Canada,I don't know anybody in Canada!!!!! Have been having this problem since April, 2010 and still as of 2011!!! Don't know what else to do.
