We received a phone call telling us we won $285,000 from Publishers Clearing House. Since we won it six months ago and didn't claim it, the money was sent to the Costa Rica Bank. In order to get the money back to the States so we could claim it, we have to pay $1,116.55. He gave us phone numbers to call Publishers Clearing House and Home Land Security. We used our own numbers and called only to find it was a scam. They don't notify people by phone and don't ask for money.
He called again (caller ID showed it came from the same number) saying he was from the United Negro College Fund in Louisiana and he wanted to thank us for the donation of $285,000 that we won. Publishers Clearing House was forwarding our winnings to them. I called United Negro College Fund and they never heard of the man nor the money. He has called us at least four times. I'm sure we will hear from him again!
