Prescott Valley Autobrokers Complaint

Prescott Valley auto-rip-offs - suzuki xl7

- Prescott Arizona
Hello, My name is David Banning, and my fiancee (Amy Shaw) are in the process of purchasing a 2002 Suzuki xl7 from Prescott Valley AutoBrokers. (We put just under half down $2,400.00 and have only made 1 payment because I am trying to get the vehicle fixed.) We have had the vehicle about 2 1/2 months and have only been able to drive it for 2 months. When we first bought this vehicle I started noticing little problems and called Scott at the dealership where we are buying it from. He said to bring it back in and he would look at it, which we did. He said he found NO problems with it, washed it and sent us on our way.
In the process of moving my fiancee's mother from Phoenix to Prescott, we rented the smallest possible trailer from u-haul and had approx. 300 lbs inside the trailer. I called Suzuki of Tempe because of a button inside which they told me was used when you are towing anything. It is to give the vehicle better performance when towing, Which is what I did. As we were heading up the mountain from Phoenix back to Prescott there was smoke coming from under the vehicle and I pulled over to find what I thought was oil leaking. It was not oil, the trans-axle and differential seals had blown out in the vehicle. I was driving, so I had my fiancee call and leave Scott at Prescott Valley AutoBrokers a message that the vehicle was leaking fluid from underneath. At this point we had this vehicle for one week! I again took it back to Prescott Valley AutoBrokers and this time Scott the manager said it was now our problem because the vehicle had gone past the 500 mile/ 30 day warranty he had given us at the time of purchase. By this time I was frustrated and furious that Scott knew there were problems and did not want to fix them. So I stood outside the dealership with home-made signs protesting anyone else from getting a vehicle from them for 4 days. I had no choice to drive the vehicle (because it is our only one) to and from work only and 2 1/2 weeks ago I had to eventually park it because I was so scared it would just "blow-up" because of the noises it was now making. I took the vehicle to Aamco and they have done an inspection on it and have come up with a price of over $5000.00 to repair this vehicle.

I have tried to talk to Scott about a refund and/or trading this vehicle in for something different. Which he refused and said "The owner" will not do that and I cannot give you any trade-in value towards the Suzuki for another vehicle because of what you owe on this vehicle. It has to be paid down to only having 1 to 2 payments left before he (The owner) will do that.

I still have to make payments on this vehicle and by the time I pay it off, I will have to pay over $6000.00 for it, then another $5000.00 to make the necessary repairs to make the vehicle safe for me and my family. Is there anything anyone can do so the next person is not ripped off the way we are getting ripped off? Thank you for anything you can do and your time in reading this letter. David Banning
