The power on my block (in Evanston, 1700 block of Leland the east side of the street) went out around 8pm Tuesday June 21. I was told today that it would not be on until Friday at 11:59pm. When I asked what to do about the food in the refrigerator? I was told I needed to make arrangements for it and that there were so many thousands of people without power the needed to get working. I thought to myself, I’m one of those people. When I walked to the alley I found it was blocked off with yellow tape because a branch fell on a power line. I went back home and called the city's 311 line and was told the only thing they could do was to give an update as ComEd updated them. When I ask for suggestions about the food I was told that food last for at least 36 hours, so I should be fine. Last time I checked from 8pm on Tuesday until 11:59pm Friday is more than 36 hours.
I think this horrible service. Please help us!!!
