The Original Complaint - October 28, 2008:
I took the car to this Kwik Kar after my check engine light came on. They switched out the 2 oxygen sensors and told me I was good to go. I got a second opinion at Firestone the next day once the car began losing power upon acceleration. They said after test driving it twice that I needed a new catalytic converter. I said okay. I went back to Kwik Kar giving them a second chance. They did the work. I took the car back again and they did a fuel injection service. I am still having the same problem of losing power upon acceleration. In total I took the car back to Kwik Kar 4 times and still the problem is not fixed. A problem I only began to have after the oxygen sensors went in. I have spent $1800 and the car is not functioning properly and they cannot diagnose the problem properly or are misdiagnosing it. Their solution is for them to keep trying different techniques and to keep charging me. I refuse to give them another dime. Now, I must take my car to a third mechanic for service. I feel like I was ripped off and the problem was not fixed. Please help me.
The Current Problem - August 6, 2009:
I am again having the exact same problem as described above. I took my car back to the Toyota Dealer to be diagnosed properly. The catalytic converter was diagnosed as clogged. The dealer suggested I take it back to Kwik Kar as the car is still under warranty. I am within the warranty period of 12,000 miles or 12 months. I took the car to Kwik Kar and they refused to look at the car and refused to honor the warranty. I am within the warranty period of 12,000 miles or 12 months. Now that they are refusing to service my car under the warranty with my check engine light being on, I have felt the need to file this second complaint. Please help me resolve this issue. Thank you.
