I was blessed w/ parents I always compared to "Leave to Beaver" - it was one of a kind. My mom, dad & I loved each other to the days they died.
My mother had a marriage prior to her life w/ my father and w/ that she came into his life w/ 5 teenage kids living w/ their father out of state.
My dad's brother is an Attorney at Law in San Antonio, who helped him w/ his estate planning. They wanted to reduce any exposure that might arise at his death and have everything just "roll over" to his wife, Mary Pape upon his death. He was diagonsed w/ cancer, which the Doctors gave him 20% change to live 5 more years, so we all knew what was next.
Upon Eugene's death Jackie, one of Mrs. Pape's children was told that their son w/ Eugene would be rec'g 50% of her estate, which she had now inherited from her late husband, Eugene, and the other 50% shared w/ her children from the prior marriage.
Mrs. Pape unexpectingly passed away, August 31, 2007 not even two months later.
At that time Pat Pape tells Jackie he will go find Mrs.Pape's Will. He then proceeds to tell her that Mary's will says all of her children are to split her estate evenly.
After talking w/ Pat's wife Martha. Her concern was that Eugene's son did not deserve what he was entitled to, so they would make it right.
Did she not update her will, but Pat says no - she did not have another will. Why would she tell her daughter on story, but her attroney have another? B/c his hate for Eugene's son - there was no other will to be found???? Now, will my family live this out, as she wanted, or as her attroney says???
Am I wrong to have these feelings???
