My son who is 5 years old was born with Spina Bifida, Hydrocephlys, and Club Feet. He cannot walk because he is paralyzed from the belly button down. We are a low income family whom are eligible for Sooner Care but yet they keep canceling my sons because I will not comply with suing his biological father who just got out of prison and is now on the National Sex offender Registry as a CHILD PREDATOR for child support. The last time the wheelchair order was put through they denied it again and said his doctor refused to sign over on all the paperwork I was trying to make him a doctors appointment with a different doctor the next day and I was told his Soonercare had been cancelled. I have thousands of dollars worth of unpaid hospital bills in my name at this point and I cannot afford them. Or I wouldn't need Soonercare for my child. Due to all of these problems with Soonercare my child cannot see any of the specialist he needs to see or have his Shunt, Bladder, or Kidneys checked which are all things that could kill him without being properly monitored. Not to mention my child was to start Pre K in August 2010 but he cannot safely ride the bus or attend school without his wheelchair. I have complied with Soonercare every way I know how, I have filled out a new application only to be approved on the spot and cancelled a few days later.
