I got a ticket last August for a violaion which I did not commit. So, I checked off the box on the ticket saying I had not committed the infraction and sent it off to Seattle Municipal court. I never hear anything back from the city and assumed they were just dropping the matter. (I know that one shouldn't assume, but the ticket was for parking in the same spot for 15 days...)
A few days ago, I got a bill from a collection agency for more than double the price of the original ticket. I immediately paid as I have never been delinquent on a bill before and I didn't want any trouble with my credit rating.
Here's where it gets interesting. I made a phone call to The Municipal Court of Seattle to see what happened and they said I had missed my court date. I explained that no notification had ever been sent, they said it had but was returned to them. How is this my fault? Help please!!
