My name is Constance Winfrey and I live in Thomson, Ga. My husband JB and I have lived here all our lives. We work very hard mostly ten to twelve hour days. Today, April 26, 2011, my husband and I came home to find that we had no water. We paid our bill on April 8th, 2011. That's two days before it was even due! We pay our bills! To make matters worse, after calling the afterhour’s emergency number, we were told that someone would be out to correct the error immediately. When the City worker got to our house he stated that he could not turn the water back on until he got the go ahead from his supervisor. Furthermore, he told us that the water was probably cut off because of an old bill or a bad check. We were outraged and insulted! Tired, hungry and ticked off, we returned inside of our waterless home to continue to search for the supervisor’s telephone number and address so that we could get our water turned back on. Finally, after an hour of running around trying to find the correct person to authorize our water to be reconnected, we had water again. My husband had to go to the supervisor’s residence to get the order authorized! This was outrageous! I wonder what happens to people that don’t pay their bills! I was totally inconvenienced, supper was an hour late, my blood pressure was up from being so upset and we now have about a fourth of a tank less gas in our truck! We are really laid back and easy going people but I think it’s time to complain.
