Last week I gave what I thought was a legitimate business
a full payment up front for $1200
to service our house for problems he said we had.
Two days he showed up just at dark so he promised to come back first thing in the morning which he did not do. No warning that the next day was Veterans day we tried to call all day getting no answer. Friday morning my husband called him, we left message on the answering machine.
Hours later a lady answered and asked us to hold while she buzzed his cell phone. Boy did he sound surprised to hear from my husband. He used one more excuse, sick wife. He then professed he would be here by 4 pm (just at sundown again). Husband called again and he said he was right down the street and would be here shortly he was just around the corner. No show.
We called one last time and left a messege that we want our $1200 back or we would either press charges or turn this over to the media. Unfortuneatly we researched his company a little better after we realized we were probaby scammed. We found his web site sayng what a good company they are and I saw there a statment that he started his business one month ago. He had just come from anther state. I never asked to see a licence with an ID number. We were given an address for a P. O. We searched and found the address. He was a real smooth and fast talker.
I'm concerned that he is going around doing this to other people. He leaves town before anyone can do anything about him. We want our money back but would settle for seeing him stopped.
