I have spent many hours fighting for the rights of my 8yr old special needs daughter. Each yr the Ohio Depart. Of Job & Family services reviews and removes my child from medicaid and places her on a MCP. I then must call them & Stark Co. DHS to stop this change. My daughter requ8ires consistant care providers and this interupts her much needed treatments. I went thru this again in January 2006 and was asurred that this was solved. 4/20/06 I received another notification from the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services stating that I must Choose a Managed Csre Plan by 5/05/2006. I am currently inthe process of scheduling surgery for my daughter and a change of coverage will prevent the surgery..................
Someone needs to adress this topic. Adoption of special needs children is difficult enough without all of this stress. Adoption needs are great everywhere but this has to stop or we will find the foster system even more overloaded than ever.
