I booked a cruise September 2010 to Mediterranean/Santorini thru Expedia on MSC cruises(to board April 15,2011). Without my consent the Cruise company changed me to another ship on April 16 to Istanbul. I was sent a confirmation form for ship name I did not recognize February 2011. I quickly contacted Expedia to verify that my booking number was still for April 15 on the first ship which they confirmed on more than one occasion. I had also made air and hotel arrangements with another conpany (Tourcrafters) around the original date. At the end of March I attempted to check the cruise company web site to pre-register and could not. I contacted Expedia for assistance whereupon they told me of the change (ship was to be dry-docked). At this late date my air and hotel investment can no longer be refunded ($4,070.00). No one company is claiming responsibility for my loss. I also purchased travel insurance which they claim does not cover this situation. The cruise company will book me for another date but not one of the four agencies will compensate me for the air and hotel loss. Can something else be done?
