HI personally would like to highlight "It's Just Lunch" -- a dating service that promises busy professionals great matches without the hassle (just lunch/drink 'first dates'). It's rather expensive ($1000 for 6 months). After 6 months and only 2 dates (which did not match my profile), they refuse to refund the money. Representatives actually have hung up on me at the request!
They probably figure that they can get away with poor/no service because if you complain about it – you’re a bitch and that’s why you are single! I think I have been very patient and reasonable, giving them many chances to improve the experience. Over the last 6 months, I have repeatedly requested better service (5-6 times) without any improvement. Overall, the experience has been terrible -- I know dating is an emotional thing, but you shouldn't get screwed by your dating service, right? When you open yourself up to this process, it’s a very personal thing. I did not make the decision to use a dating service lightly. I feel like the service you are paying for should at least be supportive and not the most difficult factor in the dating equation. I’m hoping you will help me warn other NYC singles and those in other cities to stay away from this service that is so unconcerned about its core mission!
