Hope4Car Owners Complaint

No Hope 4 Car Owners - just rip offs and liars - Car Loan Modification

- Roseville, CA
During December, I contacted a company called Hope 4 Car Owners
http://twitter.com/Hope4CarOwners and http://www.carloanmod.com/.

Matthew Moore stated that they would work with my car finance company, Citi Auto Financial and complete a loan modification, lowering my car payments.
This would take approximately 30 to 45 days. He also asked if I could pay My January Car Payment. I stated that I could not....

Matthew Moore stated that there would be a service charge of $300 to begin My car modification. This payment was sent on January 13, 2010.

I received an email from Christina Johnston on Jan 18 to send them the Cease and Desist Letter and also call Citi Auto Finance stated that they would
Be working directly with Hope 4 Car Owners directly. This was done..

I made several calls to Matthew Moore between January 18 and February 22 and Was told that they were still negotiating with Citi Auto Financial.
I asked if I should be sending car payments and they stated no, because they are negotiating the car loan modification and they any action toward repossessing my car had been suspended.

On February 22, I received an email stated that they are working with the lender To get the best possible resolution.

Several more calls to Hope 4 Car Owners between February 25 and March 8, an Email received on March 8 and another on March 16, stated the same,
That they are working with the lender to get the best possible resolution.

On March 30 I received an email stating the lender has requested a payment of $2198, but Hope 4 Car Owners reduced it to $988, and after that was paid they
Would worked toward a loan modification.

I requested this payment be made in 2 payments, they said it was possible, and they Would get back to me. I was also told that during these negotiations, any respossession procedures were suspended so not to worry about losing my car.

The first scheduled payment was dated 4/14, however they told me not to call Citi Auto Financial, that they had a special phone number to which the payment Was to be made.

On The morning of 4/14 I spoke to Mattew Moore and asked how do I make the first payment of $484, he told me that it takes 3 days to contact the lender.

This was never completed as my car was repossessed on 4/14.

Ms. Siler had a past due balance of $2,198.00, we had negotiated with the lender to accept $998.00 to bring her out of repo and at that time the lender would lower her payments for six months at payments of $100.00 a month. She took 7 days to respond and informed us that she did not have any money to put towards the balance due. Two weeks later, Ms. Siler called and informed Hope for Car Owners that she had only $338.00 and would not be able to make any other payments for 2 weeks. The lender needed the balance to be paid before the next monthly payment was due. On top of that , Ms. Siler still has not fulfilled her financial obligation to Hope. Her retainer fee was $299 and once we had successfully negotiated with Ms.Siler's lender, she agreed to compensate Hope for Car Owners $699. As for telling her not to make her payments, absolutely not. We have a signed contract where Ms. Siler states that she cannot afford her monthly payments and was already behind when she enrolled.

As for getting her car repossessed, Hope for Car Owners has nothing to do with repossession. She caused the loss of her car by not making her payments.

Ms. Siler was looking to Hope for Car Owners to dig her out of a $3000 hole for $300 which was a tall order, but we got it done. Beyond that, Ms. Siler is simply one of those individuals who believes that the world owes her something when the rest of us have to work for it. For her unwillingness to hold up her end of the agreement, Ms. Siler's name has been forwarded to www.badcustomer.com where she will find it difficult for any other business to go to work on her behalf as her expectations are unrealistic and she is impossible to work with. Ms. Siler is irresponsible and does not know how to manage her money and she doesn't believe in honoring her side of a legal agreement. If you are like M. Siler and are the type of person who feels as if you should be allowed to miss 6 months of car payments and then throw a nominal fee at the problem and get your car for free, Hope for Car Owners requests that you do not contact us as we work hard for individuals who are experiencing a legitimate hardship. Not the financially irresponsible who simply can't budget and are unable to honor their commitments. Ms. Siler, do not blame us because you didn't pay attention when your math teacher was showing the class that 1 1 does not equal 3.

We paid hope4carowners.com $395. last year to help us get lower car payments which the girl promised she could do. They only contacts our car company 5 times in 7 months, and never helped us with anything except to tell us to make our car payments on time. What a joke--lesson learned.

Mary, unfortunately you sound like a great many other consumers in this country who believe you should be able to scam your lender out of making payments for something you do not own and then try to get someone else to help you with the scam. Then you get all high and mighty when whoever it is trying to help you can't produce a free car for you. What makes you any less culpable for this situation than them? You signed a contract to pay for your car at an agreed upon payment schedule and then when you decided that you wanted to incur other debts which meant you could no longer afford your car payments, you went seeking a way to scam your lender. Pay your bills like the rest of us and you won't have any reason to have somebody call your lender for 7 months. What's funny to me is you have no idea of how money and time works. You paid them $395 and they spent 7 months trying to help you. That works out to about $55 per month that you paid to drive your car. I'm guessing that is WAY lower than what your payment was so maybe you should be praising their efforts instead of blindly backstabbing them on a message forum.
