Please explain to me how Nicor can justify charging me 4mnths back due to a flaw in their system. My Jan 2010 bill was $55. My Feb 2010 bill is $485. They are recharging me back to Oct 2009 claiming I didn't pay enough. I've never been late or past due. Their explanation is due to "actual" and "estimated" readings. It seems that when they take "actual" readings and put them into the system, if they are too high or too low compaired to the past year readings the system will kick the current reading out until they do another "actual" reading which is every other month. I did not live in this home last winter. We moved here in July 09 and the landlord has installed new windows, siding & a new furnace. Their resolution is for me to pay $121. per month for the next 4months plus whatever the current charges will be and next time if I have a problem I'm more than welcome to read the meter Myself! She also offered for me to include this debt into the bankruptcy I filed last year which of coarse is no longer an option.
