I live in Henry County, Kentucky. I am writing to you regarding a Sweepstakes Scam that has been noticed in Nebraska and a few other states, excluding Kentucky. (http://www.ndbf.org/press/sweepstake-scam.pdf)
My daughter was contacted by the 'Nevada Actionable Award Programs, P.O. Box 98855, Las Vagas, NV 89193' telling her that there is NO MISTAKE, she has won $3,341,006.00 in cash, but she IS 'Sworn to Secrecy / Absolutely Confidential.' In order to receive the said prize, all she has to do is send them a $20.00 check to authorize the 'PAYEE' to make a 'ONE-TIME' electronic debit from her account. This is the second notice she has received. Thank god, she showed it to me before she did anything. I have no idea if anyone else has been scamed by this, but I didn't know who else to write to in order to alert the public to this scam.
I would appreciate any help that you could give me in this matter. I think that it is a shame that people like this get away with damaging the finances of young people, not to mention the elderly.
