In August of 2009 I sent out a broadcast of a Request for Quote for big rig insurance. I accepted a bid from a broker in Tracy, CA; Teresa Clutter Insurance Broker. She forwarded signature pages only for documents that needed to be completed to purchase the policy. Once the signatures were obtained Teresa Clutter completed in hand written form all of the documents in which to purchase the policy. I was requested to submit a deposit check which clearly notes which vehicle I intended to insurance as well as the Request for Bid form.
On 9/1/2010 our big rig was involved in an accident. A month later I was notified by Sutter insurance that the vehicle in the accident was not the vehicle on the policy. Ms. Clutter assured me she could get this error corrected.
To this date the policy has not been corrected. A total years worth of premiums have been paid. Our big rig can not be fixed as the policy we purchased declines to do so and Ms. Clutter's errors and ommitions policy declines to open a case.
We have paid a full years premium on a vehicle that was running on the roadways, now only to find out it had no insurance; not of any error of our doing. We have had an accident and can not get our vehicle fixed. A request has been put to Sutter Insurance to refund of premiums if they will not correct the vehicle and they have declined to do so.
I had a policy on the vehicle incorrectly insured. Why would I have insured the same vehicle twice with different types of insurance coverages.
Someone needs to accept responsiblity for the errors made in the application process and accept the reprocusions of the unfortunate accident that took place.
