About a month ago, I recived an email offering "mystery shopper" jobs. A couple of friends had done some legitimate mystery shopping, such as evaluating restarants and movies, etc, so I thought it would be ok. All they asked for was my name and address to mail me info. I received several emails telling me that they received and "approved" my application and would me sending me my 1st assignment via USPS. That it would be a money order and I was to cash it at my bank, take out 10% and then send the balance to an address overseas via western union. My assingment was supposed to be evaluating the western union rep! HA! I felt very uncomfortable about sending money overseas, so I emailed them back advising them of that and that I was no longer interested. They completely ignored me and kept sending me emails asking for the Western Union evaluation info. I kept telling them not to send anything, that I would refuse delivery, But a couple of weeks later, an envelope showed up in my mailbox anyway, and it was a rather large money order and a letter with full instructions. This is where I finally got a Company Name. I quickly looked online and found that this WAS the SCAM I thought it was. I immediately emailed them back and advised them of my findings and told them that I refused participate in their scam and not to contact me again!!! I told them I would mail the money order back, but there was no address for the company, just a phone number. The article I found online stated that the other scam victim tried to call and was hung up on! So I thought I'd submit my experience, in case anyone else gets caught up in this scam. I'm not sure what to do about the money order, yet, but I did tell the scam people that I wouldn't hesitate to go to the authorities!
