Amadeus Home Music School Complaint

Music School Stealing - Music Lessons at Home

- Sparta New Jersy
I signd up for a certain number of violin lessons for my thirteen year old son. They supplied a teacher and honored that number of lessons. When it came time to renew we paid $400 dollars for additional lessons. Just when we did that his teacher said that he would no longer be able to conduct the lessons. We contacted the company and explained that we would like a refund instead of starting over with a new teacher. They have yet to give us that refund after months of calling them. I am more outraged today (3/4/09) because they went into my account and removed an additional $400 dollars. I didn't receive my original $400 and now they take an additional $400 for services which I have cancelled. This is fraud and theft. I have tried calling but get a run around or a voice mail. I am not the only person this company is doing this to. The complaints are all over the Web when I search Amadeus Music School. This company should be shut down.

I was also ripped of By Amadeus Home Music School. I was charged $880.00 and NEVER had a teacher call or show up. It has been 8 months and no contact. I have since found out they are mainly a credit card scam company. I am trying to get the media involved and help shut their scam down! Keep posting on the web and help get the word out.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I just wanted to let you know that it is completely the company doing this, not the teachers. I am, or was, a teacher at Amadeus. I honored all contracts and still have my students, however now they pay me directly. My parents had many issues with them double charging them. I am still waiting payment for 8 lessons as well ($360). I filed a wage claim with the state of New Jersey only to find out that the owner, Micheal Lawson, has left the country. I am in the process of filing a criminal complaint now. There is no point trying to call or contact the company. I would suggest calling the local police to submit a theft claim as well. The company is now closed. Good and bad I suppose. Hope it works out for you.

Michael Lawson, violinist, and former resident of Alpine, NJ ripped off my non-profit, arts-in-education company serving at-risk kids of more than $300,000.
