My daughter hired a moving company otp from Florida. They were to pick up furniture in Md and Deliver to Florida. She explained her fixed income being Christmas, and asked to be assured that there were no hidden fees. She was quoted $ 1040.00 for 2000 lbs and was made aware that any addt'l weight would be more. So they arrive in Md to pick up furniture. Everything was packed tp our satisfaction and this was prev. discussed. Bubble rapped, packed with cardboard covers etc. Many hrs later while listening to them argue amongst themselves. They are done! Well the mean one presents me with a bill stating that she owes an addtl 449.50 for packing supplies. OMG they said they used 20 picture boxes. She did not own 20 items. 10 rolls of tape when I saw them use a six pack not 10. It gets better, they than state that if for any reason she is unable to pay her belongings would be put into storage for no longer than 90 days, of course there would then be many other fees. They arrived 5 days earlier than scheduled, I think in hopes that she could not pay. Her bed had vanished! And the bill is now 2025.00 (double the Q) When I attempted to speak to the mngr, his respone was. Oh you are one of them! You want me to move your daughter for free! Oh do you need groceries I suppose you want me to do that too. You can't afford a mover you should have done it youself. I feel there scam is to obtain your belongings in hopes that you cannot afford the double bill you were quoted and then your things are in storage where they then own if you can't afford to get out with all the fees, what percentage of people can not afford to get out and therefore lose everything they entrusted this company to just relocate for them. Unbelievably rude people.
