My wife and I own a small Catering business. We always made a profit regardless of how small. However, 2009 was a brutal year for our business, as it was for millions of Americans. About 10 months ago my wife was solicited to use a talking/voice internet ad to promote the business. After 7-8 months, to the best of our knowledge we had no leads produced. The ad representative Loren Jacques agreed to allow us to terminate the program a couple of months early. However, he subsequently said his "boss" would not not allow this since it was a "verbal contract" for 12 months. I sent him a letter pleading our upside down financial position (I can fax this to you) but then there was no mercy. However, he called her a few weeks later stating he would let her out of the contract provided she would use their new PAY-PER-CALL program for the remaining 2 months of the time. I won't go into all the details in this message...but this IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL TIME! If someone calls this special number (nationwide) and the ring duration is 16 seconds, we get billed 22.00 (even if we don't answer) 98% of the calls were out of state and wrong numbers...I will explain the rest when someone calls me for an interview. To conclude for now..we have left 6-7 messages for Loren, he has never returned our calls. I took Journalism in College back in the 60's. Seriously, this is a hot story which will expose the unethical business practices of a corporate giant. The public needs to know how low they will stoop to make a buck! Incidentally, I am 67 years old today, October 26th, and my wife is 65. Whoever follows up this situation will get a juicy story worthy of local and nationwide exposure. THank you for your time. Don't miss this opportunity. Sincerely a Disgruntled Consumer who has been with AT&T for over 25 years.
