I puchased a samsung rugby phone in 09. I was told the phone would never need to be replaced as it could be dropped 20ft. and submerged into water and it would be covered. The sales person may have embelished but samsung does promote this phone to stand up againt hazerdous conditions etc.(check out the ad) my phone fell from my countertop and broke. I called and it was out of warranty so they aid they couldn't do a thing. I explained that the warranty should not matter as this was a product that needed replacing due to the fact that it did not hold up to the way yo advertised it. I was told that the broken part made a warranty null and void anyway. I asked to clarify-if my militray edition rugby phone that can hold up against hazardous conditions and can with stand a 20 foot drop does in fact drop and break then the warranty would be null and void. I feel very taken advantge of. Its like me selling you a battery that I sa last 5 yrs and you call after the secnd year to say that it didn't last the five years and you are told oh, well after a year we have no responsibility regarding our fiveyear promise!!!! It is surely a new way to use fraudulent pratices. Oh and another thing if I want a new phone I can by one and am lucky enough to be eligible for an upgrade....hmmmm
