I purchased a Sager Notebook online for 2750.00 on 5/29/03 (http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html) with an extended warranty through philips/magnavox (http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/warranty_philips.html). Sndirect is handling the warranty issues with my laptop currently.
I recently called to complain of problems with my laptop, so Sndirect had it sent over to Micromedics. Micromedics did nothing to fix the actual problem. All they did was replace the hard drive, because they get 75.00 for it. I had specifically asked Micromedics not to throw out my old hard drive and they did anyway. When I asked where my old hard drive was nobody at Micromedics knew. Micromedics has a history of this kind of abuse to customers as stated here:

It's obvious Micromedics is scamming customers and refusing service that the warranted consumer is entitled too. Micromedics also refused to replace my laptop screen stating that they could not find anything wrong with it. I sent pictures of the damaged laptop screen to Sndirects SET team and received no reply. Last I spoke with Sndirect they are now changing their story and saying that my laptops screen isn't covered by the warranty which is not true.
I took my laptop to a local repair shop in Virginia Beach (Providence Computers www.providencecomputers.com 757-382-7768 located at 1421 B Kempsville Road Chesapeake, VA 23320 provcom@providencecomputers.com) and the techs there said that the problem wasn't caused by any hard drive issues. The problem is a bad motherboard and that my Ethernet port wasnt even showing up in the device manager. They also confirmed that the laptops screen was defective (discoloring) and needed to be replaced.
Micromedics is pulling a scam and obviously evading taxes if they can't locate an item, or provide any documentation for an item, that they are getting 75.00 for. Also, the packaging that Micro Medics uses to ship laptops back to the customer is not capable of protecting something as sensitive as a laptop computer.
