Christmas ruined by Mexicana Airlines - Airline service

I booked a vacation 3 months ago to Cancun Mexico for the holidays. We booked our flight thru Mexicana Airlines, we were to leave on Dec 22nd at 7am. I called the airport to confirm what time to arrive for international travel, I was told 2 hours. I arrived at 4:30 a.m. only to be told that my seat had been given away they were over booked the story goes on and on. I already had my seat assignments 16E and 16d. how do you give paid seats away. we stood in line waiting for someone to come say something to us (yes there was more than just us that they did this to). I started to call other airline carriers to see if they could get us a flight, I called delta, continental, northwest, all said they were booked until Dec 26. after Christmas!

Now I call the company that I booked with (Orbitz) they couldn't understand and asked to speak to someone at the airlines I handed the phone to one of the clerks who spoke with orbit. they put me on a flight at midnight to mexico city and continuing onto Cancun and arriving a day and half later that original plans. I came home to contact my hotel all circuits busy, use the international operator to connect several times and after 2 hours I call AAA to see if they can offer some kind of help, she gladly does and reaches someone who will notify the hotel that I will not be arriving a day late and not to give our room away. ( I already was able to check in virtually and pick my room by the view) AAA gave me the number and name of person who helped her, I then called to confirm that they were notified. Yes but now the hotel is charging me 2 nights per their policy during the high season being the holiday and all. Even though all of this was beyond my control.

Remember this is because Mexicana Airlines gave my seats away!!!!!! the hotel does not care why, they are still charging me!! I feel that I should be compensated for all of the hardship we have been put thru. I am now looking at charges up to the tune of 10 thousand dollars when all is said and done. the taxi alone is $150 (3 trips) one there, one back home, and of course one back to the airport!! so who is responsible for this and who is going to reimburse me????? I mad as hell, and I think someone needs to do something about it! this is disgusting treatment of people. I have now lost a day and 1/2 of my vacation and being charged extra for not checking in on time!!!!!!!!

MY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY HAS BEEN RUINED BY MEXICANA AIRLINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
