My brother is on the medicaid waiver program, We tried to get help from the place our case was given to for supervision and when you call they say that they don't have to give you any information about what you can get or even where to apply to see if your eligiable, We have home heath because my brother is parapaligic and needs help dressing showering and just daily living, I was providing this for 17 years till I too became disabled because of an injury, the place that provides his care gives the name of companies to provide services and they are the lowest cost for then and poorest quality care for him, I paid big money in taxes for 35 years and now need some help to keep him out of a nursing home, where ever we turn the HHS provider says we are not eligable for that service, other people on the program are receiving the services we request so it's not something that isn't available, they give the cheapest care and pocket the rest, we have went from the area dhs and went all the way to the state attorney general where the only thing they did was to refer us back to the county office, what is the sense of having a state office to report abuse neglect and waste if there only going to tell you to go back to the place you started in the beginning, I explained in detail all this to the attorney general and they said once a company is given your case, there is no way to make them provide anything they don't want to, I care for my brother 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and they tell me I can't receive any pay because of things that happened over 20 years ago, even when my brother signed a waiver to release them from responsiability, they paid people who had records from other companies they chose but because we live together won't pay me because they can keep the money and cheat him from services just because I'm here, it;s not only greed from them it's also discremination against me because of things that happened over half a life time ago, the entire system is corupt and needs to be investigated by someone who can get the answers for people who are in the same position that we are in, will you help or is on your side just as afraid of the government as all the attorney's we contacted who won't even look into what is going on with the state medicaid program, I really hope you will show some back bone and stand up for the people who can't help themselves
