Aarons Rental Complaint

Manager from Hell - Tires and Rims

- Tampa, FL 33617
On August 1, 2010 my husband and I went into Aarons Rental and purchase tires and rims. When they placed the rims and tires on I had this awful vibration that they claimed would be there according to the mechanics that put the rims on. The Vibration got to be too much so I went back to the store, and told them about the vibration. According to the manager Kevin there SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THAT MUCH VIBRATION IN THE RIMS AND TIRES...come to find out they forgot to place the hub rings on, mind you I was also smelling this burning coming from the tires. Kevin said "don't worry that smell is because your driving and burning rubber normal wear and tear."On September 27, 2010 I left out of town to North Carolina to pick my oldest son up. On our way back to Florida we hit a SMALL crack in the road in South Carolina, and the tire bust. We was stranded on the side of the raod until a Trooper ordered us to make it to the next rest stop. When we got to the next rest stop riding on the median and the rim, my parents called AAA. When they arrived the man took my tire off along with the rim, replaced it with a donut tire, and he said "this tire was DRY ROTTED!", the AAA guy said your "LUCKY IT DIDN'T FLIP YOUR TRUCK AND KILL YOU AND YOUR SON." I told the "AAA man your wrong! these tires are brand new." He said just like everything else that comes with a defect so did this tire. I was PISSED. The whole ride back to Florida I was dreaming of going to the store, and telling everybody off in there. Who puts people in there stores to work and they don't know nothing about the product. Anybody could change a tire, but you forget the hub rings what if I would have lost control of my SUV and hit someone, and hurt them or killed them? what would Aarons have done? those hub rings played a VERY IMPORTANT PART. When I get to the store the very next day. They tried to play games with me, by telling me the damage was caused by me. I told "Antony are you serious!" the tire was no good that is why I was smelling that burning smell." I then told Aarons keep the tire and rims, and I don't want to do any business with you all. The District Manager was there and he heard the whole conversation and he told them to GIVE ME ANOTHER TIRE AND RIM AT NO COST TO ME to replace the messed up one. Unfortunately they did not have my size tire in stock, and it would be in the next day. The next day my husband and son goes up there to get the tire and rim placed on, and Aarons try to CHARGE HIM FOR IT. Are you still serious? my husband called me I called Aarons I told them to take all the rims off and KEEP IT. They then refused to take my truck down in the air, they kept saying that the boss has to okay it. I told Aarons that SUV is my property of you do not release it from being in the air, and give it to my husband and son I'm calling the police. Anthony told me "you can call Chris (the district manager) if you like since you have been speaking to him already", being really smart about it. I called Chris the district manager. Chris ordered them to do as he said about "GIVING ME THE RIM AND NOTHER TIRE FOR FREE." Chris called me and he is very apologetic about the situation, and I got my TIRE AND RIM placed on, and I kept the other tires and rims. But the moral of my story is Aarons will try to get over on you, and these complaints is real, and shouldn't be ignored. Aarons has bad customer service just like Scott the manager there he never likes to handle PAYING CUSTOMERS only customers that are "seeking to buy". Scotts customer service stinks, and so does the rest of the crew. But when Chris the Distric Manager is there they try to change like they are for the customers. And let me refrain from saying Aarons, because I'm sure there is some that care, but the Aaron's on 56th and Hillsbrough in Tampa sucks!
