There you are in Macy's and of course you think you're dealing with Macy's. But beware, that "department" may be nothing but a "space renter" that Macy's takes no responsibility for when something goes wrong.
"Macy's" Vision Express destroyed my $700 glasses in a simple adjustment and Macy's does nothing except abdicate responsibility for its substandard outside vendor. Who knew? I assumed I was dealing with Macy's.
On December 18, 2009 I was shopping, saw Vision Express in Macy's Cellar at Herald Square and thought I'd have my $700 one-year old eyeglass frames tightened. After a long time, the young woman came back, said the "sand was cold" so the frames were still loose; it was all she could do. I put them on, indeed they felt loose, but I believed her and left. It wasn't until later I noticed the crack in the frame and the glue she had put on so I wouldn't notice! The glue seeped through and when I tried to get new frames--after Vision Express didn't call back--the lens broke.
Vision Express offered one-half the cost of new frames and lenses (to be made by them so that they profit!). Macy's takes no responsibility for this bait and switch to a poorly-trained Vision Express employee.
Now I learn that other customers have complained about Vision Express publicly online. Therefore Macy's knows of and continues to support and protect Vision Express' representatives who destroy Macy's customers' personal property.

Don't be fooled by the good ratings. They are all from a few years ago.
The sales person was not knowledgeable of the different types of lenses and never gave me options to choose from.
When my frames were delivered the lenses were loose and not cut right, not to mention uneven. I returned them twice and still they could not get the lenses done correctly.
When I tried to return the glasses, I found out that Macy's customer service can not help with the dispute since technically, they only rent from Macy's. Bottom line you are left with no warranty whatsoever. Best advice avoid them at all cost.
