My 2004 Mazda 6 was taken to Jake Sweeney Chevrolet/Mazda due to a collapsed intake hose. After the hose was replaced they phoned us and said it was running great. Their words, "we can't even get it to run bad." We then asked them to replace some headlights, lug nuts, an oxygen sensor, and do an oil change. Two days later they called saying we needed a bunch of exhaust work and that they could here a tick in the engine now. The total cost to fix it all would be around $2,300. We said no thank you we are comming to get the car. We had never heard the car make any noise. Upon arrival to get the car I paid almost $500.00 for the repairs we had done. Then they drove my car around. I almost hit the floor. It sounded like a hammer knocking under the hood. We let them know nicely that we could not except the car this way. The manager Aaron Garrett told my husband to get the car off the lot. A policeman came and convinced him to keep the car and check it out by telling him he knew the owners very well. Aaron lied infront of the officer two times. We have multiple businesses that had the car after us due to body damage from hitting a dear that will testify that the car engine made no noise. Even the mechanic at Sweeney Chevrolet said it made no noise before the oil change in front of the officer. Now they will not pay to fix the car and claim we brought it in with a ticking noise and it spun a lower baring and threw a rod by chance after they did an oil change. It took us two weeks to even get them to call their insurance. Of course their insurance will not pay for it because Aaron told them the same lies they told us infront of wittnesses. I am fed up with this bad business. What they are doing is fraud. Whatever happened to honesty? How can you give someone a car that only had to have an intake hose replaced then after its running great have an oil change and it is destroyed. It has not leaked oil so how was it ran without oil? No one above the service manager Aaron Garrett and the customer service representative will even speak to us and they still have my car. I would love to know if Jake Sweeney even knows what is going on at his dealership. They have endless complaints on the BBB website with a rating of B- and they are not BBB accredited. They also have a complaint list a mile long with the Ohio Consumer Protection Agency. Please help me and help other people in stopping this bad business before someone gets on the road and killed in one of their poorly serviced vehicles.
