I leased a Toyota Solara and turned it in to the Infiniti dealer when I leased an Infiniti with the understanding that the Infiniti dealer would surrender the vehicle to Toyota( which the Infiniti dealer and Toyota dealer both agree is Standard operating procedure). The Infiniti dealer even made the last 10 of the remaining lease payments and paid for my 1,400 miles over, as a part of our agreement. Toyota now claims they have no record of the payments and never received the vehicle back.
I recently spoke with a Toyota representative from collections and after providing her with the information and the only documentation that I had, she assured me that she would indicate on my file, that I was in no way responsible. Shortly after I received documentation that Toyota forwarded the matter to a collections agency. And of course, the collections agency’s only concern is to get me to pay.
I turned the vehicle over to Infiniti Dec. 2, 2003, and they made the remainder of the payments from 12-2003 to maturity date of the lease (9-23-2004), and the over mileage for a total of $5,650.
Toyota will no longer speak to me, claiming the account is no longer their concern, because it was forwarded to collections.
Infiniti claims they can’t assist me because the dealerships are independently owned and it is not their job. I had to plead with the representative to forward a complaint to the Infiniti consumer affairs department, and although he forwarded it he assured me it did not matter and that Infiniti would probably not assist me in this matter.
I have been trying to by a house, but due to the charge off from Toyota and the collections indication of the account on my credit report, it is impossible to do so.
I can’t achieve my dreams due to Toyota and Infiniti’s lack of cooperation and concern toward their customers.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THESE BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATIONS WILL BE WILLING TO RUIN MY LIFE (their customer) FOR THEIR COUPLE OF THOUSAND DOLLARS MISTAKES.
PLEASE HELP!
I have a copy of the check payment that the Infiniti dealer made to Toyota financial,
A copy of the license plate transfer form from the Toyota to my new Infiniti ( and Infiniti even took the plates off of the Toyota and put them on the infiniti when they took the car from me.
A copy of my lease agreement that states that they would make the payments and over mileage payments.
