May 10th, 2006 my son was killed in an accident when the car he was riding in was struck by a coal truck. This day was the worst day of our lives. The lawyer who took on the case against the company of the truck driver is G. I. He has recently been disbarred and lost his license. For almost 5 years now, every time that we tried to contact our lawyer, he avoided us over and over. When we called to set up an appointment with his secretary for us to meet with our lawyer, his secretary would not allow us to make an appointment. She kept telling us that she would have to talk with G. I. before she could actually set us up with a day and time that we could see him. She kept telling us that she would call us back and not once did she ever return our calls. I have recently received proof that our lawyer did in fact get the insurance settlement in 2009, and he kept every dime of it. We did not receive one penny of that insurance settlement. I know that the settlement will not bring my son back, but since his death I have gotten full custody of his son, and that settlement would insure that he is taken care of financially. Also, one of G. I.'s ex-secretary did inform us that he was having his secretaries take some of the files out of the office to be destroyed. I am almost certain that my file was among the ones to be destroyed, but I do have the proof that I did have a case in his office, and I also have the proof that he did in fact receive the insurance settlement in 2009 and didn't give us a dime of it. I am lost and I don't know what to do about this situation. I don't know who I need to contact to get help in going after G. I. for stealing from my family. I just don't understand how he could do this to my family. We have been through so much in these past 5 years, and for him to do this to us after all that we have been through. I lost my son, my grandson lost his father, and my 3 daughters lost their brother. Everyday is a constant struggle. I need help, and I don't know who to contact. Everytime I make a phone call to find out what I need to do, I get the run around. Please help me to get my story out there. I really need your help!!!! Thank you very much for your time.
