Kay Jewelers Complaint

I sent in my wifes ring for repair in November of 07 as a surprise Christmas gift. I did not receive the ring back until Feb of 08. It than became a surprise Valentines gift. My wife had it back on her finger for four days when she realized one of the emeralds was missing again.

I returned the ring to be repaired again with the intention of not paying on the bill until I received the ring back again. I have now been threatened with being sent to collections even though I no longer have the ring. It has been back in their hands for 4 weeks. Can you help?
