Jet Blue Charges for Christmas trip to No where - Round-trip Ticket Charge Home to Intermediate Destination to Home after flight was cancelled

- Oakland to Long Beach, Ca
I purchased a round trip ticket from Oakland to New York City (JFK) for Saturday, December 19, 2009. The flight went through Long Beach, Ca. with a flight from Long Beach to NYC scheduled for 9 pm Satruday night. When the flight was cancelled in Long Beach due the snow storms that had been occurring on the east coast all day, a ticket agent and the supervisor standing next to her promised me a full refund of my Oakland to NYC ticket. I thought it was because they could not get me on another flight to NYC for four days. The next flight I was told I could get out to NYC would be Wednesday, December 23rd. I did not get the full refund I was promised. When I complained to Jet Blue about the partial refund, I was told that I had used the Oakland to Long Beach part of the flight.

Jet Blue induced me to go to Long Beach by continually stating that the flight to New York was still scheduled despite the record snow storms taking place on the east coast. At 9 pm (the scheduled departure time from Long Beach, Jet Blue posted a notice that the flight was delayed until 11 pm. Shortly after 11 pm, the flight to New York (JFK) was cancelled. I was stuck in Long Beach, Ca. Jet Blue’s agent told me I would receive a full refund. I believe that this lie was told to induce me to accept the return flight to Oakland the next morning and to step away from the counter so the agent could "help" the next person in line. Then they charged me for a round trip flight.
It is unconscionable for Jet Blue to make money off charging me for their having taken me no where but from one of their terminals to another and then back to my starting point after (1) telling me that they would be able to get throug the storm on the east coast, (2) telling me that I would have to wait in Long Beach, Ca for four days to finish the flight, and (3) promising me a full-refund at the ticket counter in Long Beach.
