Incident
I bought my Chrysler Sebring Convertible in February 2005. The very same day that I drove the car home it died on me at a red light. The car did restart and I was off to the dealership. I had to pay $100 to have them look at the car since I have the extended 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warrant through Daimer Chrysler. They had to reset the computer. Then not long after my rear windows would not roll down. Another $100 and they fixed it. Another problem I have is that there is some kind of fluid on the front passenger side floor. I have no idea where this came from. The dealership says there is nothing wrong. I am allergic to mold and when I would get into that mildew smelling car here comes sinusitus and off to the doctor. I don\'t even want to add up how much money in medicine I have spent at the doctors. But the dealership says nothing is wrong. Yea right. My car died one time at a red light in a busy intersection. Angry people everywhere! I had to have it towed. I pay another $100 and they said it was the fuel tank sending unit. Oh yea check engine light still says on. When it goes in the shop it is reset and a day later the light comes back on. I have had this problem since I got the car. Then another time I\'m pulling up to a red light and ahhh my brakes stop working! What the heck????? That was a disaster. Luckly I got the car to finally stop and off to the shop it went. Another $100 and they replace stuff with the brakes and rotors, etc..That happened a year after I got the car. I also had the oil changed at the dealership. Do those guys even know what they are doing???? Check engine light comes back on a day later. AGAIN! On April 15, 2005 my car would not start at all. That was only two months after the brakes went out. See the pattern? This car has been a pain in my rear every day all the time. I hate to get in the car. So the car gets towed in and another $100. They had to replace the battery. I had three batteries in less than two years. Again check engine light comes back on. On March 28, 2005 my drivers side buttons that control my seat stop working all together. So another $100 and they fix that to. Check engine light back on. Grrr....When opening my door one day it went pop. Then everyday I opened the door it still went pop. What the heck is that? CD player has a lot of problems to. The car starts sputtering. Hmmm..weird..also to keep either the air conditoner or the heater running you have to have your foot on the gas. If you take your foot off the gas or press on the brake bam it stops working. It\'s really annoying especially when it\'s real cold and you need your heater. You can\'t run the red lights just because you need to stay warm. At this point my car is going through oil. Having to add a quart about every other day. Then about six months ago my car started making a knocking noise. Real bad. I got it back to my house and it gets towed in. The dealership says I need a new motor. There is sludge. They refuse to replace my motor even though I have a bumper to bumper warranty. They said I need to pay to get a new motor and it will cost anywhere from $5000 to $6000 for a new motor. Yeah right. Unless I can provide receipts of all my oil changes. I don\'t keep those! I had to call and request just to get my paperwork from the dealership of all I had done to the car. So I asked how much they would give me for a trade. The answer is...$1000. $12000 is owed on the car. So that was not possible either. When I bought the car I noticed some rust underneath the car.A lot of it. I asked the sales man, Billy McCollum. He said it was from the rain. I said I wanted a mechanic to look at it then. He went and got the general manager who assured me it was just from rain. I found it rather odd. Why did they not get one of their mechanics to come and talk to me? So I demanded a carfax report. Come to find out it was a rental car from Florida. I see the light. Could it have salt water damage? Florida is known to have hurricanes and vehicle floodings. The salesman and gen. manager assured me no because they would be able to sell the car. So I bought it. Ugh. I had to have my mom cosign for me. Now because of this car I am without a job. It really bites. I would NEVER recommend anyone to get a Chrysler Sebring. I have had about 7 different vehicles and this one was the worst ever. Hands down. I will never ever buy another car. Just trucks and suv\'s for me.
Damage Resulting
Since I have no car I don\'t have a way to work. I have no job now. My parents are on social security so they can\'t afford to help me. My mom is making my car payments even though I can\'t use it and I don\'t have the car. My parents are really great. I have three children. Two of them live with me. I couldn\'t take my oldest daughter places all the time so she went to live with her dad. My husband works but only makes $9.60 an hour. So we couldn\'t afford to live on our own anymore. So we moved in with my parents. I can\'t even look for a job because I don\'t have a car and I wouldn\'t have a way to and from work. My husband drives an hour to work and an hour back and works 12 hour days. So I can\'t ride with him. Since this problem with my car I have been real depressed. I am on anti-depressants. Effexor XR. And my dossage has been increased again to 225mg this time. This whole thing with my car is depressing. I can\'t do anything. I can\'t go anywhere, I can\'t get a job. My mom is holding up to her end of the deal by still paying on the car and the warranty is no good because they are not holding up to their end of the deal. I looked up the warranty information and it says they replace engines. The entire engine. It says nothing of providing receipts. But the dealership is demanding receipts. I have moved several times since I got the car that I don\'t remember all of the places I got my oil changed. This is not fair. How can they walk over people like that? I don\'t understand. I tried to file lemon law but it doesn\'t qualify. I bought the car with 35,000 miles and it has 81,000 miles on it now. As you have read that is a lot of problems in such a short time. That\'s not very many miles to need a new engine. That car has been a pain in my butt since I got it. I hate that car. My family (my husband and kids) have lost our apartment, our means of transportation and our lives because of this car. If there is anyone that can help I would really appreciate it. Please help me. They have to know they can\'t do this to people. It\'s not right. Please please help me. Please.
