It's not about the money, but about the lack of customer service - MetroCard purchase

Hi,

My name is Margarita Valle. My story begins with a Thirty Day unlimited MetroCard I purchased in cash back in June 28,2009.

When I first used the MetroCard which was on the day of purchased it worked fine. When I tried using it again the following day the card didn't work. I immediately mailed out the MetroCard on June 30th with the application and provided the information required. The time period was 4-6 weeks. I received a letter stating that the MetroCard was not enclosed and that I have to mail in the card in order for the application to be processed. I immediately called the telephone number that was provided and explained to the representative that I was very sure to include my MetroCard in the application. Her response was that it was my word against theirs.

I didn't agree with what she was telling me and I wanted to know what was my next step. The representative told me that they were going to do an investigation and that I was going to get a letter in several weeks. It NEVER HAPPENED. After several weeks I called and explained myself again and I was told by another representative that she was going to have the Supervisor call me within 48 hours. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. September rolls in and I find myself calling again and explaining my story for the Third time. I was told to write a letter directly to the Director of the Division Annette Stewart which I did on September 29,2009. November is here and I have not receive a response.

I am very upset and disappointed with the way I have been ignored. I have been very patient and don't deserve to be treated this way. I wonder if other strap hangers have gone through this situation and have walked away without a fight.

Why should I pay for someone elses mistake.

I hope you will consider my story and help me in this matter.
