I, marlisha gatewood purchased the car 10-01-2010, drove off the lot @ exactly 6: 15pm....Drove the car from il. To earthcity, month Picked my mom up from work @ interface security systems...Put $10.00 In the gas tank...Drove apprx. 5Miles and the car wouldn't pick up speed...When I pressed down on the gas grey smoke came from the tail pipe...The oil, transmission, abs, gas, and a light that is an exclimation mark w/a circle around it. Came on..Pulled off the road for about 10 minutes tryed it again..Made it to germania and Alabama...Stopped at a store be for heading to rivercity...Locked all the doors....Came back out to find that the only key they gave me did not work for the doors....4 Hours, a lock smith, and 65$ later,...Trying to go home on 55 north the car stopped...Pulled over it sounded like it was out of gas when I tryed to restart it...Walked an hour to a quick trip, baught a gas can, gas, payed for a ride back to the car, added the gas now the car sounds like the starter or altinator was out....Was stranded till 4am...My mom picked me up on her way to work. I drove back to the car lot explained the situation asked for my money back...Was told by nicole that " we don't do refunds" was also informed that I could not be reimbursted for the $65.00...I was told to wait til Monday when the mechanic came in, asked about the title and the door key was told again that nothing could be done til Monday...Monday October 04, 2010...Started calling @ 9am was told @ 1130 that the car would be ready after 1pm..Got there talked to nicole who said "i do not have the title and I did inform rob of you needing a nother key when you come back I'll have it for you." While we waited for them to" finish" the car my mom drove to il. Department of motor vehicals only to find that they are closed on Mondays...Then drove to land of lincoln dept. Of leagal sevices...Was told that I need to contact the attorney general...Got back to American motors talked to rob the lead mechanic was informed he had been looking for the wrong problems because he was told that the smoke was coming from under the hood..He told me he "couldn't let the car go now knowing he was looking in the wrong place."..He then stated that "the whining coming from the steering collum was because the wrong power steering fluid was used, the fuel pump needs to be replaced, and the gas hand/censor was broken. Come back the next day October 5, 2010 @ 4pm and the car will be ready."....Tuesday October 5, 2010...Show up rob tells me "well while I was under the car I noticed that the transmission is leaking from somewhere and we gotta find out where it's leaking from." So no one bothered to call and tell me not to come?!..I'm still calm about it because the things he is finding makes feel like they were doing the right thing..Mind you I live @ 270 and belfountain rd...But I still remained calm...So my girlfriend goes the next day wendsday October the 6th and the transmission guy went home early..But he did find out your torque converter was bad so thats what the hold up is we are waiting for the part and the transmission guy only stayed for 30 mins. Come back Friday I'm sure we are going to have it done...Again I was not told the car was not ready before I paid for a ride there yet again...This time one of their secrataries gave me my ten dollars for gas back....Yesterday Friday October the 8th my girlfriend again shows up @ 230 pm her ride leaves, sits there til 6pm is told by kenny (owner we think or lead sales man) " that the transmission guy left before the part came in, that the part came in late afternoon and that it was to late for the guy to put the part on...It wouldn't have been finished by then anyway" so I ask"no one could have told me that 2hours ago?" Nicole responds" oh..He just left." And she(cj my girlfriend) says" I thought you said he left before the part came in?...And so how am I going to get home?" Kenny tells one of the lot guys david to take me home. Oh...And still no title or key..Saturday today was the last straw..I(cj) get there to get the car it's filthy oil hand prints all over the silver paint the gas tank is on e....First thing I do is stop at the gas station put ten dollars in the tank my mother is trailing behind me I want to see how it drives on the highway so we get on 255 north heading towards 270 we get to 64/55 and I have to get off the highway @ route 157 because it saying that my gas tank is empty...My mom tells me there was black smoke coming from the tail pipe when you were getting on the highway...Then again...The oil light, transmission light, the abs, the exclimation point, the gas light, all came on @ the same time...Made it to walgreens @ collinsville crossing and route 157 I called them back explained what happened was told to wait there for ten mins. They will call right back...That call never came....Made it to my moms house in jennings, month Still no call...Called them was passed around to three diffrnt people before finally speaking to nicole who was being very....Rude....Againg I got the wait til Monday speal...Nicole made the comment that"if I don't like how they fixed it take it to my own mechanic after all we aren't charging you guys for the work..) I cj took a deep breath explained to her how she real close to being called the other word for a female dog and that I cj is the one who has been calm in dealing with them because you can't go around talking to people ignorantly....
I don't even know if anyone will read this but if you are reading this please help me!!!! I can't lose my job because I can't get to work....I'm 23 years old I work @ parkside meadows retirement home in st. Charles mo where I am a cna/cmt...I don't have the money to keep dealing with them...I just want all my money back...I don't want another car from them anymore...I just want my money back and I will never again buy another car w/o a mechanic present!!!!
