I was a debit insurance agent for this company for almost three years. I was let go for not performing up to standards or otherwise known as not selling enough insurance to cover the insurance premiums that were falling off the books. This company holds bond money against us which is deducted from each paycheck to cover anyone who might not be turning in monies received in the field. Upon leaving the company they do an inspection on your book to make sure all monies have been turned in. This can take about two months so that they can be sure they see as many customers as possible. I was let go around the first of this year and still have not received my bond money back from the company. It has been 5 months. If they are treating their own ex employees this way, how do they respond when customers have a claim that they need in an emergency. The answer is the same way. They drag their feet and claims that would be an immediate expense for the families involved would take up to 6 months to get processed. If you are thinking of purchasing life or fire insurance in the district of columbia I would steer clear of United Insurance Company.
