I'm a singe mother of two, about two months ago I was involved in a home invasion. I had been renting for about three months when, everything in my apartment was taken. This had already been the second time they broke into my apartment. The first time I did not have renter insurance, the police was able to get finger prints but of course its not a high priority case that it may take some time for them to look into the prints. The officer strongly suggested that I get renters insurance right away due to the fact that I was the 5Th victim that this has happened to. I left messages the next day trying to get a policy of course they did not return any of my calls. I called again a few days later and got a live agent got my policy started that same day. Well the next day was when they broke into my home again while my kids and I were sleeping. This is such an awful experience. We had a hard time trying to term our renters contract I had to find someone to take over my lease. I was so broke due to the fact that my purse with my payroll money in it was taken as well. We feared for our lives that we left the next day and stayed with my mom for one month. Well it now almost three months and this insurance co won't work with me, they don't return mys calls, when I demand they find my agent he gives me no answer to whats happening with my case. At one point he stated that its hard to believe my story. I have two police reports along with prints and pictures of the break in from there company. To top this off I asked for the policy to be transferred to my new apartment which they said they can't do till my claim is settled. Here I am in a new place that is not insured but ex apartment is insured and I'm still paying my monthly payments. So the question is. Has any one been used by this insurance co? I'm an honest loving person why do they want to hurt me like the robbers did. I thought they were on our side. Do you think three months is long enough!
