I live across the street from the Valero Lube plant(Mobil oil co.)and another place called Plains American Pipeline. I've lived in this town all my life and have delt with this problem for several years. The plants, at times release contaminents in the air that apparently find their way down to earth, unfortunatly where we live. They have admitted several times that they were to blame, that is when is was very blatten and they got tons of complaints, and took care of the infected property by means of labor and/or settlement BUT, there are many times that they don't tell anyone that something did go wrong and there was a release, my guess is they figure to take a chance and see just how many people complain and deni the few that do complain. Plains has a tank farm which is 50 yards from my home and recently painted the tanks white, and got the same white spots on all my property as I have now but they did admit it and paid me for the damage. I've fought with them to get my property paid for or cleaned with some success at times but a lot of times not. At this time in my life I own a black Chevy Tahoe, gold Nissan Maxima, red Chevy Corvette,21ft fiberglass boat on a trailer, and a Harley Davidson which is also on a trailer. I wash and wax my property as often as I can which brings me to this. On the14th of September I waxed my black Tahoe, only took 3 hours of my day, anyway, on the 17th I washed the truck again only to see these little white specks of what looked like paint all over the truck. Of course I'm furious cause I just waxed it 3 days prior. I called Valero and left 3 messeges with no return call, I also called Plains and I did get a call back but they said it is not them and they haven't painted since the 1st of September, so I called the DEP and the field guy for this area came out and went to investigate only to return saying he can't find anything that shows either are responsible. So I need to exploit this issue to the area so I may get some kind of answer to why and where the fallout is coming from and how do I and the people of this town get relief.
