i purchased a Hyundai Elantra from Pitre Dealership in Scottsdale Az. I took it in to say I could smell gas while driving. They said the gas tank was fine.
They had a recall on the cracked gas tanks in 2000. Mine was supposedly replaced.
In 2004 I am driving and had a seizure from the gas fumes.
The cracks were huge in the fuel tank. The bottom of the car was saturated with gas.
I have spent the last 3 years regaining my ability to walk besides many other effects of inhaling gas fumes.
Hyundai states that are a distributor and not the manufacturer and gave me the address to sue in Korea for their defective manufacturing.
I believe Americans would like to know. There new advertising campaign about letting others make our decisions and safety first makes me laugh.
