HomeLife Communities Complaint

Extreme Getover: Home Edition featuring HomeLife Communities

- Atlanta
Unethical Selling Practices:

Homelife Communities, one of the builders that was featured TV- ABC "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" uses unethical selling practices and does not disclose important information.

I purchased a new home from Homelife Commununities in the Atlanta area a about two months ago. On my first visit to there sales office located in the subdivision I heard a train horn blow. I ask the sales representative on several occasions the where abouts of the train and his response was that the train was now where near the subdivision. The reason I ask was I did not want to live anywhere near the train because of the noise, vibrations and the exposure.

The night after I made settlement on my home, I was awoken by the loud noise and my bed vibrating. I discovered there is a commercial train that runs in my backyard, about 100 yards outside my bedroom window. The train. shakes the house everytime it rides past. I can feel the vibrations throughout the whole house. I have not been able to sleep properly because I can feel the vibrations while I'm in bed.

I wrote HomeLife Communites and the initially ignored my concern until I contacted a third party consumer group that promotes business ethics.

HomeLife Communities have even threatened to sue me for slander and libal.

HomeLife Communites is still refusing to take responsibility for purposly selling me a new home with a train in the back yard.

The state the don't have to diclose any information regarding the area around the home, it's up to the buyer.

But the fact is I asked about the train. And in order to make a sale the representative used unethical selling practices and non-disclose .

I know sales in the housing market is slow but this is no excuse to be unethical.

My warning to new homebuyers is to beware.
