Three weeks after a an accidental fire, Home First Agency will not process my claim in a timely manner, has lied to me, and will not help care for our families needs. My house is a mess, with smoke damage in throughout the home. The ceilings are black, cupboards are burned, floors are in bad shape, etc.... The insurance company has told me to clean it up myself, until they get their paperwork organized. I am so upset over this. I have paid for insurance on my home sine 2005, and nothing like this has ever happenned before. I am sick that this insurance company, a part of Clayton homes, will not even help its customers who have a home loan with them. Everytime I call I am treated like I am bothering them. The adjustor they sent out a week later told me I was not entitled to a lot of help. He didn't know, as he works for an adjusting company, which is contracted by HOME FIRST. What should I do. They also told me providing a storage area for my things so work can be done in here would fall under housing. I have no garage, or out building. I don't know how I can keep my TV's, computer, personal things out in the rain. Please help me, somebody. This fire happened on March 19, 2011. Its already 4/04/2011. You can't even get any answers from them that help my situation.
