April 29, 2008
0% interest for 12 months, 24 months later the job is still incomplete. Guess who's paying the interest rate?
Being charged unfair interest rate for a job that was not properly installed. It took 2 years for the job to be rectified and completed. I was told the interest rate would be postponed for another year but the interest rate continues to be accrued. Now they tell me that the interest rate will not be deferred.
The job was started approximately March of 2006
The job was just completed April 18th, 2008. Today I still have major leaks, the siding warped and popped the trim.
Total cost of job was $27,343.
Deposit of $8,202 was taken from Home Depot credit card 2-9-06.
$9,800 was paid 1-3-07. (job was still not installed correctly.)
Balance was $17,543
The current balance is $20,425.77
The contractor they used was unlicensed.
The insulation was wrong.
The house wasn't wrapped.
Siding was not installed properly, used wrong siding.
Siding trim was not done correctly.
Consumer affairs was called. The contractor was found not to be licensed. When Home Depot was confronted about this they agreed the wrong material was used. They agreed to re-do the job and allow me another 12 month 0% interest. They redid the complete job but didn’t allow the interest rate to remain at 0%.
To date I have been charged $2,882.77 in finance charges and it continues to accrue. I'm getting no help when I call corporate offices for dealing with this injustice of unfair interest rates due to their negligent workmanship.
I'm being charged for their incompetent, unlicensed contractors. Home Depot should be responsible for the time frame it took to complete the job according to quality workmanship.
