We are being put into a very difficult situation by our home owners association. As the situation developed, we have learned that many thousands of other home owners are suffering from the same HARASSMENT by HOA.
We have moved into our home in a new community in Simi Valley five years ago. From the beginning we parked our utility truck that we use for our home – based business in front and in the driveway. That business truck is key tool in generating money to pay our living expenses. During that time, that vehicle fit the definition of “authorized vehicles” as defined by C. C. and R. Several property management companies have come and gone during that time and none have seemed to mind the truck. New management company came into our community and the rules were changed, making it illegal for our vehicle to be parked on HOA property. At this point HOA is leaving us with NO CHOICE but to sell the vehicle and LOOSE THE BUSINESS or sell the house and MOVE FROM THIS COMMUNITY.
We can understand if the existing home owners would get “grandfathered” in to the regulation, but TO CHANGE THE RULES AFTER FIVE YEARS OF RESIDENCE is BLATANANTLY LUDICROUS! We have made several attempts to get an exemption based on unreasonable nature of the change but to no avail.
I know that THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHER CITIZENS THAT ARE CONCERNED WITH HOA ISSUES, being that it affects many other regular working people who earn their living with help of their small commercial vehicles in this community as well as across the state. We have exhausted our options and NEED HELP TO COMBAT HOA organization!
Is HOA SUPPOSED TO HELP community residents or MAKE their LIFE A NIGHTMARE?! WHO CAN HELP HOMEOWNERS to find tools to leverage HOA INJUSTICE?!!
