Scott's Auto Corner Inc. Complaint

Help me drive my car I just bought! - Used Car

- Staten Island, New York
I purchased a car on Mar 3, 2011. The dealership owner stated if there were any problems bring it back. That is all in good though I cannot start it to take it back. I was instructed, even though the sale is days old, he would come personally and look at the car. After his no show with that promise, he told me to have it towed to his dealership so he could look at it personally. I don't feel I should have to pay for a tow being he sold me a defective product. the car is still in my driveway, un able to start and he has not made any attempt to cotact me or make this situation right. Can you please help me? Frances Hart.

I am the owner of Scott's Auto on Staten Island NY.

Just recently I was made aware of this complaint by another individual that saw this here on your site.

Her complaint was that her used car sale under $2,000 on a car that was 18 years old, with 175,000 miles on it and sold "as is", didn't start 5 or 6 days after they took it from us.

1st off, this sale was for a 175,000 mile car "COMPLETLY AS-IS"

The car was less than 2,000.00.

I asked this customer to bring in the car, and said I would offer to help her get this car fixed, even after she bought this car "as is".

I left off with this customer to tow the car in, if in fact she couldn't get it started. The tow would not have cost more than $50 bucks, more likely would only have been 35.00 .
Last I heard was that...she said okay...and never showed back up or never called us back here.

3 weeks went by I didn't here from her,
As an independent used car owner operator...its almost impossible to leave my store, so I squeezed in a trip to the cust's home at 830 am on my into work one morning.
I found the car completely disassembled in her driveway, parts of the engine were under the car in the back seat.. and when I asked her what was going on, she told me that she has a mechanic that does work on the side,, that took it upon himself to diagnose and dismantle this car with the owners permission.
At this time I asked her why she never called back to say that she wasn't towing the car to us...and she said..I didn't think I had to pay for the tow.
So She took it upon herself to have an unauthorized repair done on her own. This customer did not contact us after her own neglect to bring us this car and allow us the opportunity to repair it for her. Therefore we did nothing wrong, nothing.
Even though her neglect caused her own problems we still assisted this cust financially.
At the point I saw there was nothing we could do since it was completely dismantled, I asked what her repair was going to cost her, she said $250, that it turned out that the starter was bad, so I wrote her ck for $300 which she cashed and used to pay her for repair and then some.

So I respectfully insist that you remove this slandering post of your sight, until which time you can call and substantiate this claim.
