I am a federal employee, a doctored pharmacist, who carries federal BC/BS health insurance. My husband and I both have used Skyline Medical Center ED for services, yet the bills have been different. I have complained over 18 months about this to no avail. I have achieved a resolution with the hospital about their charges as they were billing as a "non-preferred" provider, however, the physicians that cared for my husband (a group called Emergency Physicians of Nashville) have continued to bill as "non-preferred" despite the physicians themselves declaring that they are "preferred." The hospital itself will not help with this as the group is a contracted agency. Also, the physicians ordered unnecessary tests and billed for tests never performed. The hospital will not correct these charges. I work at a hospital, and this is not acceptable. They will not return my phone calls, yet they insist that they will. They are hoping that I will simply go away as they do with all consumers. This is the very reason that health care is in such bad shape now. I will NOT go away, and I have kept names, dates and logs of conversations-even if they did not.
